Ex-agent de Vosjoli’s book contains a number of alleged revelations of the operations of the French intelligence services including assassinations and the opening of diplomatic mail of foreign embassies, including the U.S. mail. The author describes the activities of a secret committee consisting of high-level intelligence officials and civil servants, which was presided over at times by Georges Pompidou. During the 1960s the committee gave instructions for covert operations. The book is also a defense of a former colleague of the author, ex-intelligence agent Leroy-Finville, who was imprisoned for alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Moroccan political leader Mehdi Ben Barke.
